Soon I will be mailing cards about the Youth Worker Summit (December 1-4, 2010) that we are working on with the Ecumenical Youth Ministries Staff Team as a member denomination of the National Council of the Churches of Christ. Currently we don't have the infrastructure or budget for offering our own Episcopal Youth Worker training, however we can learn much from joining our ecumenical brothers and sister in Christ for education and renewal. Besides, Phyllis Tickle will be there!
The conference is shaping up to be a pretty excellent event and it is open to bringing your family with you to enjoy the wonder of Walt Disney World for some extremely discounted rates.
I am working on a grant application to partner with some money from the Youth Ministries budget to offer some scholarship assistance. I will spread the word as soon as I have funds secured. If you are interested in going and may need help, please let me know at bskov@episcopalchurch.org . I could also use your help in identifying other sources for potential generosity in helping our Youth Ministers participate.
